Our commitment to freshly roasted coffee is what puts the taste of our coffee beyond that of most roasters in Canada. We deliver weekly to our customers in small quantities in order to ensure freshness. Freshness is an important issue because, as Canadians, we are used to drinking a STALE coffee product that could have been sitting in a warehouse for up to one year. Coffee tastes sweet and smooth when consumed soon after roasting, but becomes harsh and bitter as it stales because the oils in the roasted coffee go rancid. We recommend that consumers only purchase enough coffee for two weeks at most. (If necessary, you may somewhat extend the life of your coffee by storing in a sealed container in the freezer.) This standard results in dedication to our customers, a superior product and a locally centered business. We encourage you to join our mission of high standards for quality and social justice. Taste and See!

Spent coffee grounds should never be reused to make coffee, but they have other uses. Grounds are great for your compost or to sprinkle around plants. You can also purchase Java Logs, made of recycled coffee grounds, to burn instead of wood. |
